Theater Arts Program Brings Beloved Chicago Original to the BGHS Stage


Buffalo Grove High School Theater Arts Program presents 44 plays in 88 minutes through the upcoming Fall Play, Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind.  Performances are scheduled for Friday, October 19 at 7pm & Saturday, October 20 at 7pm.  Tickets cost $7.00 each and may be purchased at the door, or online in advance at

Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes), written by Chicago Neo-Futurist Playwright Greg Allen, is presented through special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. Allen collaborated with the high school ensemble to craft this experiment presenting 44 plays in 88 minutes. Each two-minute play is performed in random order with an interactive audience. An onstage timer keeps everyone honest. This collection of comic, tragic, political, personal, and abstract Neo-Futurist plays is sure to entertain!

The play is brought to life by Buffalo Grove High School actors who perform in various roles for each production.  Cast members include Maggie Balmes, Philip Banks, Lauren Clarke, Carly Colen, Kayce Drevline, Haley Durso, Drew Goldberg, Hannah Greenspan, Meghan Griffin, Zoey Heinrich, Lea Karpov, Tristan Klein, Antonio Laverd, Leo Lombardo, Emily Luethy, Jasmine Luethy, Hayley Maenle, Mikayla Marrazzo, Maddie Morrison, Serafina Petrusek, Christian Puga, Adam Shane, Lily Shane, Kim Smedinghoff, Megan Snow, Olivia Soble, Jenna Szydlowski, Cristopher Vega Gutierrez, Emma White, and Abby Wight.
