The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered at Buffalo Grove High School on Wednesday, October 14 or Thursday, October 29, 2020. This test measures verbal reasoning, critical reading, math problem solving, and writing skills important for success in college.
Why take the PSAT/NMSQT?
We encourage juniors to take advantage of this opportunity. The PSAT/NMSQT test qualifies juniors for the prestigious National Merit Scholarships.
In addition, participation in the testing provides the option to receive information from colleges and scholarship services. The PSAT/NMSQT can be used as a predictor for SAT scores. It allows students to compare their academic skills with those of other college-bound students. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT will receive an interactive score report with answer explanations, projected SAT score and feedback on readiness for 20+ AP courses. Students also get free SAT® practice powered by Khan Academy that gives a unique SAT study plan based on PSAT performance.
If you are entitled to and are pre - approved for testing accommodations from College Board, your accommodations will apply to this test. The deadline for submitting Eligibility Forms and Documentation for Fall PSAT/NMSQT (this exam only) has past. Please email your counselor, case manager, or Assessment Center with any questions.
