Buffalo Grove High School Students Represent Model UN Conference With Honor

Model United Nations participated in the annual conference at Chicago International Model United Nations (CIMUN).  1100 students from all over the US and several different countries came together for this conference to run different simulations on issues concerning the world today as well as issues from the past.

Buffalo Grove High School took 22 eager students on the trip and represented the countries of Greece, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, and Mali.  The BGHS students spent weeks researching government policies and current geopolitical situations.  They were assigned various roles in UN committees, executive cabinets, and other supranational organizations.

CIMUN recognized one BG student in particular for his accurate portrayal of a delegation and knowledge of parliamentary procedure.  Junior John Burzawa represented Greece in the European Union.  CIMUN awarded John Burzawa with the Best Delegate Award in his committee for his outstanding performance all weekend.  This is the highest award given to any Buffalo Grove High School student since the creation of the club five years ago.
