Township High School District 214 Hosts Second African American Teen Summit

Township High School District 214 will host its second African American Teen Summit on Friday, April 21, 2017. Students from eight different high schools will be in attendance. This event will be held at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine, Illinois 60067.
  
The theme,"Redefining Ready for a Changing World" will introduce keynote speaker Allen J. Bryson, an author and motivational speaker specializing in academic and achievement based seminars throughout the country.  A native of Chicago Illinois, Allen J. Bryson is an author, poet, spoken-word artist, motivational speaker, and educational specialist. He has been writing and performing spoken-word and delivering speeches for over ten years. He has shared the stage with speakers such as Harry Belafonte, Les Brown, Danny Glover, and Def Poetry Jam Co-Founder Bruce George. He is the author of two books, Sleeping with My Eyes Open (2004), The Ministry of Motivation (2008), and currently working on his third publication The Vernacular of Victory.
