Buffalo Grove High School is consistently ranked among the best high schools in Illinois and across the nation. The school serves more than 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12, offering a well-rounded academic curriculum as well as high-quality co-curricular options. 

BGHS is one of six comprehensive high schools in High School District 214. It serves the northern portions of the district, in the villages of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and Wheeling, a middle-income residential area twenty-eight miles northwest of downtown Chicago. The communities continue their strong support of an excellent school system, ensuring an annual operating expenditure per student of more than $19,000. Buffalo Grove High School maintains a student/certified staff ratio of 14.7:1.
