Robotics Team Takes Top Honors

On March 11th and 12th, 26 robots descended on John Hersey High School for the 2nd Annual District 214 Robot Rumble.  Entries from Buffalo Grove High School, Elk Grove High School, Prospect High School, Wheeling High School, John Hersey High School and Fremd High School competed in a double elimination robotics tournament. 

The Buffalo Grove High School Robotics Team took First Place and swept 4 of the top five spots in this years competition.  The winning robot was a four wheel drive vertical spinner designed and built by Patrick Chartier, Tommy Ruppert, Ryan Vasquez and Kevin Krieger.  They have been working all year long on their design in preparation for this tournament.  This real life application of engineering principles provides our students with a solid understanding of how engineers take an idea from concept to production.
