How many graduation tickets will I get? Can I get more?

Due to seating limitations in the school gymnasium, there are only 4 tickets available per graduating student. Tickets are given to the graduates during the rehearsal on June 3, provided the student does not have outstanding financial obligations. There are no additional tickets available, please do not call the school asking for more.

Do I need tickets to view the graduation by video in the cafeteria or theater?

Each family can bring 2 additional guests to watch the ceremony on closed circuit television in the Theater or Cafeteria. Tickets are not required to watch the video.

When do the doors open?

The gymnasium doors open at 12:00 noon

Can we bring balloons?

No balloons will not be allowed in the gymnasium during the ceremony. Please keep them in your car for after the ceremony.

Where is parking? Is there handicap parking?

Attendants will be on duty to assist in parking in the student parking lot. The parking lot can be accessed from Arlington Heights Road or Dundee Road. There will be no open parking in front of the building. Attendants will assist with handicapped parking in the bus lanes located very close to the entrance to the gymnasium. Only vehicles with an official Handicapped Parking Tag will be permitted to park in this area.

Overflow parking for graduation will be at Longfellow Elementary School located at 501 South Arlington Heights Road.  We have NOT received permission for any overflow parking at any of the strip malls near the high school.  If you park there, you will be parking at your own risk and may be subject to being towed.

Is there special seating for the handicapped?

How many family members can sit with them?
The first row of bleachers and one row of chairs in front of the bleachers is designated for handicapped individuals on the balcony side of the gym. There will be a staff member inside of the gym assisting with handicap seating. There is only enough room for one family member to sit with the handicapped individual in the designated handicapped area.

Can I get up and take pictures as my child walks across the stage?

GradTrak® by Graduation Images has been contracted to take pictures of every graduate as they walk across the stage. They will contact every family with the opportunity to purchase copies of the photographs.

Will I be able to purchase a copy of the video from the ceremony?

Zaker Video will be professionally video taping the Buffalo Grove High School Graduation Ceremony.  This commemorative DVD will allow you to relive this special day for years to come!  The entire ceremony will be recorded, and each graduate will be shown receiving a diploma.

How long does the ceremony last?

The ceremony usually lasts 60 - 70 minutes.

Is there a dress code for the graduates?

Yes, see student dress section listed above.

Is there a reception in the school after the ceremony?

No, families typically have preferred private family ceremonies off site.

What time do the Graduates have to be there?

Graduates have to be in the Field House no later than 12:30 p.m.

Where do we get our tickets?

Tickets are given to the graduates at the graduation rehearsal on Friday, June 3, provided all financial obligations have been met.

When do graduates get their cap and gown?

Caps and Gowns are distributed in the cafeteria on Wednesday, May 25, during lunch hours.
